Wrestling Season Wrap Up

The 2008-2009 wrestling season has ended.  The varsity sqad was small but there is alot of promise in the underclassmen.  Individually, the wrestlers had some great moments: three from the team qualifying for Regionals(Ricky Williams, Emilio Garcia, and Martin Seneca) and two advancing to the State Tournament(Emilio and Martin).  Martin Seneca was able to medal at states with eighth place.

Thanks to all of the time and dedication of the coaches as well as the great support of all of the parents.  It was a great season of wrestling and with hard work in the off season, we should have a strong team for next year.

Check this site for information on clinics and tournaments during the off season.

Welcome to the Centreville High School Wrestling Website

September 17th, 2008 It is a new year and everyone is looking forward to another exciting wrestling season.  Wildcat wrestlers from last year had a great season, sending almost half the squad to regionals and two on to the state tournament.

If you are new to Centreville or new to the sport of wrestling, consider coming out to practices and see if you’ve got what it takes.  Many begin wrestling their freshman year and can be competing at the varsity level in a year or two.  It takes a lot of hard work and dedication.  Practices will begin on November 10th, 2008.  Consider some conditioning and weight training now to prepare you for rigorous practices.

Coach Hill will be the head coach this year and can be contacted by e-mail: Prince.Hill@fcps.edu.  Check this website for updates or contact Coach Hill with any questions.

Returning wrestlers:  How is your fund-raising going?  Updates on open mats, clinics, and preseason tournaments will be forthcoming.  You all know to continue working out for another successful season.

We just can’t wait for another great season of Wildcat Wrestling!
