Wildcats Place 3rd in Woodbridge Holiday Tournament

Congratulations to the Varsity wrestlers who competed in a tough two-day tournament. Hosted by Woodbridge Senior High School, the Wildcats competed in a 16 man bracket and walked away with a 3rd place finish! Our medal winners included the following:

Coming Up
The Wildcats travel to Westfield HS to compete in their first District competition against both Westfield and Oakton High Schools Wednesday, January 9, 2008. The matches begin at 6pm. Come on out and support your Wildcat wrestlers!

The Varsity squad competed in a day-long duals tournament on Saturday, December 22, 2007. Fourteen teams competed in the event with the teams divided into brackets. CVHS came in 2nd in their bracket, before competing in the last dual of the day with host South County high school. The Wildcats won 4 of their 5 dual contests. Team scoring during the day was as follows:
Centreville finished the evening strong, winning both dual contests, held at Centreville HS Wednesday, December 19, 2007. Proceeds from the donations collected at the door will benefit the Lance Armstrong Livestrong charity foundation. A big and heartfelt thank you to all who generously gave to this worthy cause.

The Varsity Wrestling squad kicks off their 2007-2008 season on Saturday, December 1, with the Black Knights Tournament in Lexington, North Carolina. Hosted by Lexington High School our wrestlers will compete in up to 5 matches during this one-day event. Stay tuned to CatsMat.com as we report on the tournament and, as always, post pictures.
The Varsity Wildcats competed in the Annual NOVA Classic, held again at Fairfax High School. This two-day tournament features over 30 teams in and around the Northern Region and around the State. After the first two rounds the Wildcats were leading the tournament in team scoring but tough third round losses dropped the Wildcats to an 11th place finish overall. However, the squad had its best showing in over 4 years with 6 wrestlers finishing the day as place winners. The JV and Varsity wrestling squads competed in their first duals meet against W.T. Woodson. Both squads competed very well. The Varsity squad won their dual 39-26. Pictures from this event
